The live recordings were reassembled in the studio to create this magnificent album, an epic release that is both intricate and driving, with unusual twists and turns and a sense of humor that all 4 bring to their many projects. The band borrows from the idioms of rock, jazz, progressive, psychedelic, and even traditional Japanese music, using structured work and improvisation in startling and enjoyable ways.

スタジオセッションをワンカメで収録した全９チャプター、５７分。MP3でも収録されており、こちらは本編よりも二曲多い、全１１曲８０分。ワンカメながらも３人が正面を向いておりそれを絶好のアングルで収めており、各々のテクニックを余すことなくみることが出来ます。灰野敬二の演奏をここまで鮮明に映し出したのは恐らく本作がはじめて。全編灰野と河端の二本のエレキ・ギターと吉田のドラムによるガチンコの即興演奏を収録。

SEKKUTSU JEAN (“stone-cavernous temple” in English) are a Japanese experimental rock duo founded by Tatsuya YOSHIDA (drums, percussion) and Kenji SATO (bass, cello), named after an occasional idea by Tatsuya, a stone freak. Kenji, born in 1963, has been renowned as a bassist of a Japanese indie rock project named Marchosias Vamp, formed in 1984 and disbanded in 1996, and plays as a solo artist and in various project e.g. a rock duo The Manji, a trio Foe, or a cello trio Cotu Cotu.

内橋和久＆吉田達也／インプロヴィゼーションズ　magaibutsu limited MGC-24/25  Sold Out
タレ流しの即興を徹底して拒絶する２人の意思と音楽性が激突するCD２枚組１４６分。「即興物は出さない」という磨崖仏自らの掟を覆す渾身のリリース。On display here is the kind of music you’d expect from the two playing together – high energy, complex improvisations with guitar and drums and (of course) bizarro lyrics courtesy of Yoshida. Each of these guys is great at improvising, and a lot of the time I’d almost think some of the material was pre-written. The music on display here definitely isn’t for everyone, though – fans of Yoshida’s usual high-energy material a-la Ruins should get a kick out of it, though. It’s closer to their material than to anything I’ve heard from Altered States up to this point. The two are certainly generous with the amount of material on display here – two discs of highly entertaining improvs for roughly the price of one prog album.

再小編成による変拍子とメロディーが一体のサウンドは、国籍性別年齢不明な何十人もが一度に何かの会話を成立させているかのようだ。音と感情と意味との境目のない普遍性。アメリカではマイクパットンのIPECACからのリリース。Tzomborgha is the group’s eighth full-length of studio material (not counting the demo-heavy Refusal Fossil), and it’s arguably the best of the Sasaki discs. As with 1998’s Vrresto and 2000’s Pallaschtom, the obsessive desire to change directions as many times as possible in one song could drive many listeners to drink. Furthermore, Yoshida’s recent love of medleys (“Progressive Rock Medley”, “Classical Medley”, et al) is somehow not as neat as in the past. Here, “Black Sabbath Medley Reversible” (don’t think for a second they can’t play this stuff backwards) and “Mahavishnu Orchestra Medley” should be novelties but for the fact they sound a hell of a lot like typical Ruins tunes.

86年の１st７EPから92f年のBURNING STONEまでの代表曲が、吉田みずからのリミックス／リマスターによりクリアかつパワフルな音像で蘇る。ハードコア的初期衝動作から徐々に複雑化する曲作りのプロセスも垣間見ることができる。
This compilation packages very rare early material from Ruins’ original 1986 seven-inch of their first four-track recordings, their 1987 twelve-inch album, and selected tracks from their third record. also includes songs from 1990’s Stonehenge and 1992’s Burning Stone. most of the songs are newly re-mixed and re-mastered.
